La.Cro.S.S. : is a non-profit association, founded in 2016 with the aim of bringing together the areas of information and sports history research. On the one hand the area of sports journalism, on the other that of sports historians. In fact, in a specific field such as sport, without reporters there would be no historians, since most of the sources through which sport history is made (in the absence of archives or in their dispersion over time) are drawn from specialised papers. Only a narrowly academic vision, when not snobbish, had until now prevented the encounter between these two worlds, which La Cro.S.S. aims to merge organically, while still ensuring - always - the quality and seriousness of its in-depth study and its sports-historical dissemination.
The Association deploys its action through the organisation/promotion of conventions, conferences, debates, studies, research and promotional courses, with particular attention paid to the younger generations, schools, universities and sports associations. This is an ambitious project, but one that can certainly be pursued with the support of all those resources and energies of which the widespread sporting universe is rich. (Info: www.la-cross.org)
