A new meeting is set on Feb. 23 and 24 occasion for the presentation of the book "Dear Michele. A Scarponi Life" part two and to talk more about road safety.
After last November's event, the "Scarponi Foundation," established in 2018 in memory of the unforgettable cycling champion Michele Scarponi, returns to Alexandria to carry forward a strong message for greater safety on our roads.
Marco Scarponi returns to present the second book "Dear Michele. A Scarponi Life" part two and talk about road safety with the "School Project."
The project aims to propose an educational approach to the issue of mobility, a fresh look that brings forth a culture of sustainability by combining environmental, social, economic and ethical aspects together.
Proposing a sustainability education project means promoting an educational path through which people can freely choose a lifestyle oriented by the principles of sustainable development, less impactful to the Planet and more respectful of the people who inhabit it.
A path of education for sustainable mobility will start mainly from schools as possible principals and flywheels for a different mobility: being physically embedded in the urban fabric, affecting mobility on the home-school route, and having the opportunity to convey important messages through students and teachers.
The key message the foundation wants to spread is to bring people back to the center, because the road belongs to everyone, starting with the most fragile.
This is the schedule of the two-day event full of appointments and meetings sponsored by the City of Alexandria: Thursday, Feb. 23, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.: meeting with 100 male and female students of the A. Volta; Thursday, Feb. 23 3-5 p.m.: meeting at the City Hall with citizens and a delegation of municipal representatives and administrators for the book presentation and a joint commission in the council chamber; Friday, Feb. 24 10 a.m.-12 p.m.: meeting with 150 students from the Vinci Institute.
