Following the new state funding of about 300,000 euros to be allocated to the development of cycling, and on the basis of the comparison with the Municipal Administration, Amici della Bici Fiab di Alessandria started a consultation among the associations concerned, asking for the contribution of all citizens who normally use bicycles and who are therefore well acquainted with the problems of cycling in Alexandria.
The road travelled in groups led to an important result. As Claudio Pasero points out: We have received 135 reports, and also on the basis of those we have sought a summary and detailed our proposals, dividing them into 3 areas of intervention, for those we consider the priority interventions.
The interventions to which Pasero refers are, in short, the mending, restoration and integration of the Alessandria cycle path network; in addition, the project includes a step relating to small, punctual and decisive interventions and one relating to urban construction sites already started with other financing.
Theproject has immediately seen the enthusiasm and participation in the work of Museo AcdB, which is not only a Museum but also a laboratory and an active container and addresses an important Community that is very passionate and has strong territorial roots, as can be seen from the comments of its director Roberto Livraghi:
We at ACDB like to pedal in history, but also in the present: the two things are connected. And every project to improve mobility on two wheels finds us very attentive. The one born from the wide consultation carried out by FIAB, seems to us of particular interest, also because it would allow to spend well resources not trivial linked to cycling.
The proposal resulting from this choral work, in a nutshell, considers as a priority and mandatory the sewing up and safety of the already existing routes on the stands of the ring road of Alessandria, (as already indicated in several PGTU, PUT and PUMS drawn up over the years), the construction of the bike path in Piazza Garibaldi (as per the project co-financed by the Region and already started) and the construction of some new light infrastructure starting from those that would connect the city with the suburbs of Alessandria SOUTH (made possible by the recent DL 76/2020).

2) EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
(3) NEW LIGHT INFRASTRUCTURE
(bike lanes, dual carriageways, advanced houses)
4) SMALL RESOLVING INTERVENTIONS
5) COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION SITES ALREADY FUNDED.
