A travelling exhibition by Miguel Soro is arriving at the MUSE in Trento, focusing on a work dedicated to Aldo Moser, the unforgettable champion, romantic and heroic of twentieth-century cycling, recently deceased and brother of Francesco Moser. From mWednesday 8 September 2021 to Sunday 12 September 2021. On the occasion of the European Road Cycling Championships.

MIGUEL SORO THE CYCLIST PAINTER - Miguel Soro is a Spanish painter who belongs to the family of Valencian landscape painters, a genre in which he has won numerous prizes and awards. In Italy, he has made a name for himself in the world of cycling. As a former professional cyclist, he has established himself as the artist of "heroic" paintings: he paints and creates emotional works through a genre of "mixed collage" painting that has made him famous throughout the world for his collections dedicated to vintage cycling.

Soro has already exhibited in Europe and beyond, often setting up his paintings in the context of the most important cycling events, such as the Vuelta or the Tour de France. In Italy, his "monothematic" tribute to Fausto Coppi, at Palazzo Monferrato in Alessandria, an event held at museo AcdB, was a great success. The exhibition dedicated to Coppi il Campionissimo became a travelling exhibition in the centenary year of his birth, 2019, and led the artist to create more than 50 works, all dedicated to him and all successful.

THANKS TO THE MOSERS, A HOMAGE TO ALDO - "I am very grateful to the Moser family and to Trento for this opportunity - said the artist - and I am particularly pleased to exhibit in the context of the European Championships and in a place that is also passionate about the history of cycling. In Trento those who love to remember the enterprises of the champions of the bicycle, as the great Aldo Moser, find themselves as to house... And it is a Europe, this, that pedals sped towards important cultural goals. Where even art has meaning. In the tale of sporting feats, in the memory of great champions and men, in the promotion of the true values of cycling and of life'.

Miguel Soro has exhibited in Spain, France, Canada, Belgium and of course Italy, the first time being in Gaiole in Chianti where he is a legendary artist for heroic cyclists. Before becoming a painter - Miguel Garcia Soro - he was also a professional cyclist. Born in 1976 in Xativa - Valencia, he raced for a Portuguese team and won several races. An excellent amateur, he wore the jersey as a junior and won a world team title with Miguel Morras.

As an artist he is highly appreciated for his historical culture. His technique is also peculiar: he mainly uses acrylic paint mixed with collage and has a very rich curriculum in landscape painting competitions, having won numerous prizes in 10 years of activity, the last one at the Juan Frances painting competition, in his home, Xativa, at the end of August, where he won everyone over with his "Retrato de Juan Frances". Acrylic/collage 120×150.

Because of his style and passion for cycling, he is much loved in Italy and abroad, where he is considered the absolute protagonist of a new artistic genre - vintage and emotional. His works are inspired by photos and newspaper cuttings representing legendary champions of world cycling. He knows how to give colour and poetry to competitive gestures or to the typical expressions of the two-wheel champions that he himself obviously loves. Lastly, he is also an experiential cyclist and cycle-tourist, and his Italian tour is perfectly timed to coincide with the European Mobility Week (16-22 September 2021).
